About Rooted Mushrooms

Rooted Mushrooms began more than five years ago with a single grow kit sitting on our kitchen counter.

What started as Al’s curiosity quickly turned into something bigger. One kit became a small harvest. A small harvest became late nights researching, experimenting, and learning. Before long, it wasn’t just his project anymore — it became something the whole family was part of.

We originally operated under the name Al’s Mushroom World, because in the beginning, it truly was his world. But as the work grew, so did the hands involved. Growing, drying, extracting, labeling, setting up at markets — it became something we built together.

Mushrooms have a quiet way of taking over. Beneath the forest floor, they connect ecosystems, recycle nutrients, and support life in ways most people never see. In their own way, they help shape the world around us. What began as one small grow kit slowly shaped our world too — our routines, our conversations, our time together.

For us, mushrooms mean time at the table, time in the grow space, time learning something new side by side. They’ve become part of our family rhythm.

Changing our name to Rooted Mushrooms reflects that growth. It represents being grounded in the process, connected to the natural world, and committed to steady craft over trends.

For more than five years, we’ve refined our process from cultivation to dual extraction to small-batch powders. We use fruiting bodies, thoughtful extraction ratios, and hands-on methods we’ve developed through experience.

This isn’t a trend for us.
It’s something we’ve grown into — together.

We’re grateful for every person who chooses to support a small, family-run business. What began with one grow kit has become something steady and meaningful — and we’re proud of the roots we’ve put down.
